Remixed by Dallas-based House/Progressive House DJ "Passive Progressive"
Q: WHO IS PASSIVE PROGRESSIVE?
A: Old friends from Dallas, Harris and Justin (from Airplanes) used to jam back in their high school days (circa 2005) in a band known as "The Two Old Prospectors".
Throughout the years, they separately developed their own musical interests and projects; Harris now is musically oriented in the electronic dance-music scene under the name "Passive Progressive", while Justin went on to become a founding member of "Airplanes".
Highlights of Harris’s work include his first single, ‘Hide Away’ which was featured a record 9 times on Above & Beyond’s (#4 on DJ Magazine's "Top 100 DJ's" polls in both 2008 and 2009) worldwide radio show (and subsequesnt podcast) "Trance Around the World". They proceeded to use this song as a basis for their mash-up ‘Sky Falls Away’ on their latest CD "Anjunabeats Volume 8", which topped the US iTunes dance charts at number 2.
Above & Beyond recently closed their mainstage set at the Los Angeles 2010 "Electric Daisy Carnival" with this mash-up. To date, EDC 2010 drew the largest attendance of any electronic dance music event nationwide, with attendance numbers totaling over 300,000 people over two nights.
To top it off, Harris was recently asked to provide a guest DJ mix for A&B's weekly podcast of "Trance Around the World." The podcast generally features a 60-minute live set by Above & Beyond, immediately followed by a 30-minute set by a featured guest DJ.
Other projects Harris has remixed include The Soldier Thread and Person L (the latest band of Kenny Vasoli from The Starting Line).
